Online

In addition to providing a competitive Masters degree in Aviation Human Factors, the College of Aeronautics also offers an online Masters degree in Human Factors in Aeronautics for remote students. Our degree meets or exceeds all the very high academic and research standards established for the resident Aviation Human Factors degree. Our Online program consists of the following characteristics:

  • It is an asynchronous program conducted online.
  • Thirty-three (33) credit hours of study are required.
  • Basic research and thesis are required.
  • Students proceed through the program as a class by taking the same courses together.
  • Two classes per semester are required.
  • All requirements must be completed in two calendar years.
  • All students must be present on the main campus for two days at the end of each semester for course cap seminars and final examinations. Special arrangements, on a case-by-case basis, can be made for extreme hardships that would prevent the student from participating in campus examinations.
  • Class sizes are limited to 15 students
  • Applicants may request a specific start date. However, if that date is not available, students will be placed on a wait list for the next regularly scheduled cohort.
  • A regular, written or online application for admission to the university graduate school must be completed. Visit Graduate Admissions
  • Although designed for students with some aviation background, candidates without direct aviation experience may qualify for the program by taking a general prerequisite course offered during the summer prior to the beginning of the regular cohort in the fall semester.
  • Commencement will be on the main campus with the rest of the student body.
